SPANISH I
Prerequisite: 9th graders – A in 8th grade English
Eligibility: 9, 10, 11, 12
The Spanish I course covers fundamentals of grammar including three verb tenses, oral reading, dialogues, translations, scripture verses, singing and quotations.
Prerequisite: Acceptable performance in Spanish I
Eligibility: 10, 11, 12
In the Spanish II course, students review and learn the five tenses. The study includes cultural and social elements in Spanish-speaking countries. The students’ assignments will consist of written and oral reports and translations of information concerning the geography, climate, exports and imports of several Spanish-speaking countries.
Prerequisite: Acceptable performance in preceding Spanish course; teacher recommendation
Eligibility: 11, 12
The Spanish III course provides and emphasis on listening, speaking, reading and writing of the Spanish language. In addition, students learn new vocabulary and grammar. Spanish IV involves a more in-depth vocabulary study as well as a more advanced level of reading and writing of the Spanish language.
